A Message from Our Principal

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind — welcome to IQRA Bangladesh School.

I often think about the two paths so many Muslim families feel caught between today: a purely religious education that doesn't prepare a child for the modern world, or a purely academic one that leaves their faith untouched — and over time, often forgotten. The madrasah system alone, however sincere, often leaves its graduates without the qualifications needed to lead in a modern society. And the standard school system, however academically strong, leaves faith almost entirely untouched — which is part of why we've seen so many young people quietly drift from their Deen in recent years. Neither path alone builds who we want our children to become. At IQRA, we set out to bridge this gap — not as separate tracks running side by side, but as one integrated journey.

Our approach rests on three things we care about equally.

First, character. Before anything else, we want our students to grow into people of honesty, compassion, selflessness, and empathy — the kind of character the Prophet ﷺ himself exemplified. We hold a simple but ambitious vision: that the scholars, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and community leaders of tomorrow should lead not just with competence, but with sincerity, in a manner that reflects prophetic teachings in how they treat people and carry their responsibilities.

Second, a genuine grounding in faith. Our students study the Qur'an with proper Tajwid, Tilawah, and translation, alongside Aqida, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith, and the Arabic language — not as a subject to memorize for exams, but as the foundation everything else stands on. For those able and willing, we also support full memorization of the Qur'an alongside regular studies, following in the footsteps of our own Huffaz graduates, who have shown us that this is genuinely achievable alongside a full academic life.

Third, an academic education that meets the standards today's world demands — Mathematics, Science, English, and beyond — taught with the same seriousness as any leading school, so our students are never at a disadvantage in whatever path they choose after us. At the same time, we take care in how we build our curriculum, so that what our students learn strengthens their worldview rather than working against it.

We believe success cannot be measured by this world alone. A truly complete education must prepare a child for both — their life here, and what comes after it. This is what we mean when we say IQRA is neither a madrasah nor a conventional school — it is our attempt to raise a generation firmly rooted in their Deen and fully equipped for the world in front of them.
